EU-education: How to succeed in your advocacy work in Brussels
Registration is now open for New Republic's new tailor-made training program on EU advocacy - in partnership with APCO, one of Brussels' largest agencies.

Do you want to better understand the EU's decision-making processes, deepen your knowledge of what to expect in Brussels - and start building relationships with some of Europe's most experienced political actors? Then this is the training for you.
New Republic's EU training is aimed at those who work strategically with politics, influence and social issues - in business, the public sector, at a trade organization or as a political representative. The training is specially designed for those who want to increase the impact of your advocacy work ahead of the Swedish elections in 2026 - through the right timing, the right message and the right contacts at EU level.

That is why we are doing this now
Up to 70% of Swedish legislation is currently directly influenced by decisions in Brussels. At the same time, the political map has been redrawn - both in Sweden and in the EU. The new Commission is expected to prioritize security, competitiveness and energy, while large parts of the Green Deal will be negotiated and implemented. Who is in place - with the right skills and networks - will be decisive for which industries and issues will be heard.
The program in brief
The training is divided into two parts and is planned to take place in spring 2026 starting in January:
Part 1: Two half-days in Stockholm
A half-day training with speakers from New Republic and invited guests. Focus on decision-making pathways, impact in practice and situational analysis in tailored key areas (e.g. climate/sustainability, energy, preparedness and competitiveness).
An additional half-day study visit to the Swedish Parliament, the Government Offices, the European Commission offices in Sweden and other relevant institutions. Participants will get a concrete insight into how Swedish EU monitoring and negotiations work.
Part 2: Study trip to Brussels
Three intensive days on site in Brussels. Meet key actors from the European Parliament, the Commission, interest offices and the Swedish representation. Case exercises and networking dinners.
