"I can contribute with a new business area"
2022-10-16
Three quick questions to Emma Håkansson, new consultant at New Republic, on site development and the transition to public affairs.
Which of your skills and experience are relevant to New Republic's customers?
– I have over 20 years of experience in destination development and location marketing combined with working for regions, municipalities and companies. With this experience, I can for example contribute in urban development issues with a new business area where we develop offers both local and regional perspective in most issues.
What is site development and why is it important?
– These are crucial issues for the development of many organisations and the attractiveness of places. Place development spans a wide range of sectors and areas such as infrastructure, nature, culture, commerce, hospitality, public sector and others. No one owns a place and that is what makes it so complex. However, there is an interdependence between the actors operating in a place, which is why consensus and cooperation are needed to succeed. Successful place development can lead to more investment, new and repeat customers and a stronger brand.
What are you most looking forward to at New Republic?
– In addition to being part of a very professional team in an exciting company, I am looking forward to working on our issues at national, regional and local level.
