‘I want to strengthen New Republic’s focus on sustainability’

What knowledge and experience do you have that are relevant to New Republic’s clients?

– As the person in charge of the Moderate Party’s economic policy in the Swedish Parliament, I have coordinated the party’s policy in the Committee on Transport and Communications, the Committee on Environment and Agriculture and the Committee on Industry and Trade. It has taught me to understand and navigate ongoing decision-making processes and to be able to quickly familiarise myself with new policy issues. I also bring expertise in some of the most burning political issues of our time, such as the climate, energy and infrastructure.

Which issues do you think will be high on the political agenda in future?

– Everything to do with the green transition is more important than ever. We are seeing how political actors, government agencies, companies and organisations are advancing their positions in order to play their part in the climate transition. It is good and important, but at the same time it creates a great need for priorities. We can do without symbolic acts; what is needed are effective reforms that really reduce the climate footprints, both nationally and globally. Being relevant and creating real benefits for the climate and the environment will become increasingly important in order to make your voice heard and make a difference.

What are you looking forward to in your new role as an adviser at New Republic?

– I hope to be able to contribute vigorously to working to strengthen New Republic’s focus on sustainability. I am looking forward to being part of a hard-working and professional team. The opportunity to develop in my role as an adviser and learn a lot from my new colleagues is something I greatly appreciate.
