How can the climate transition be equitable? 

The climate transition needs to be designed so that everyone can participate based on their living conditions, regardless of where in the country they live. In cities, for example, where there is good public transport, the transition to fossil-free transport may be easier for more people. In rural areas, where cars are more necessary, incentives and opportunities are needed for people to switch to climate-smart alternatives, such as electric cars. It is about making it both practically and financially possible to participate in the transition and ensuring that no one is left out when fossil fuels are phased out. 

How is the Green Party developing its rural politics? 

Rural politics is so much more than just fuel prices. In order to strengthen the opportunities for living in rural areas, we need, for example, government credit guarantees for new construction and remodeling of housing. It is also crucial that welfare services function throughout the country, that municipalities and regions are given better conditions, and that a vibrant cultural life is created. A strong business sector is a key to sustainable development throughout Sweden. 

How will Sweden ensure a long-term green energy supply? 

Renewable energy sources must be developed on a large scale. Wind power is central to Sweden's energy supply, but it is also important that there is green baseload power that can balance when the wind is not blowing. Solutions such as hydrogen energy storage, batteries and gas turbines fueled by renewable fuels need to be developed, which requires major government investment. At the same time, it is important that the whole country can share in the benefits of energy production, for example through local returns from wind power. To maximize the potential of offshore wind power, the infrastructure, such as cables and connections, needs to be expanded and modernized.
