New Republic PA brings in three new partners

New Republic Public Affairs broadens the ownership of the agency by bringing in three new partners.

The new partners at New Republic are Sebastian de Toro, Viktoria Raft and Tobias Eke Vestergren, all employees at New Republic.

Sebastian will be Head of Investor Services for the new business area Political Due Diligence.

- New Republic has 15 years of experience in public affairs, government affairs and corp comm. We have also worked for several years to help investors understand political and regulatory risks in connection with transactions, capital raising, asset disposals or well before the investment process when investors need to understand complex political events and possible developments. We are now bringing together all our investor services in a new business area headed by Sebastian de Toro,” said Paulo Silva, Founding Partner of New Republic.

Viktoria is part of the firm's management team and is responsible for the Forest, Energy and Sustainability business area.

Tobias will, among other things, strengthen the agency's business in life science and public health and towards the EU.

Briefly about New Republic's new partners

Sebastian de Toro has many years of experience in politics, civil society and the Swedish trade union movement. He has been State Secretary for energy, digitalization and migration issues and political expert at the Ministry of Finance, the Swedish Parliament and Region Stockholm. In addition, he has been an LO economist, consultant at McKinsey & Co and sat on the board of Folkets Hus och Parker.

Viktoria Raft has over 20 years of experience in communication and advocacy, with a particular focus on energy, forestry and real estate issues. Viktoria has a background as communications manager, press manager and senior advisor in public affairs, including at Vattenfall, Stockholm Exergi and the Center Party. She has also covered energy and sustainability issues for several years as a news journalist. Viktoria is one of the initiators of Kraftkvinnorna, a network to attract more female leaders to the energy sector.

Tobias Eke Vestergren has over ten years of experience in strategic communication. He has previously worked as a public affairs consultant in several industries, including life science and public health. He is trained in the ethical regulations of the pharmaceutical industry and has been a board member of the Swedish Pharmacy Association's section for drug information. Tobias has also worked as press secretary to Anna Hallberg (S), Minister for Foreign Trade, and in strategy, policy advocacy and communications at the Swedish Cancer Society.
