New Republic welcomes Viktoria Raft to the team. Viktoria comes to us from the industry and interest organisation Public Housing Sweden, where she was Head of Communications. Prior to that, she held key communications and advocacy positions, including at the European energy company Vattenfall, the energy provider Stockholm Exergi and the Centre Party.
Viktoria has over 20 years’ communications and public affairs experience. She has been a news journalist, a PR strategist, a chief press officer and a senior public affairs advisor. At New Republic, Viktoria particularly strengthens the company’s offering in the energy and forestry sectors. However, she also has important experience in urban planning and real estate.
‘I’ve missed being a consultant and working in depth on energy issues again. Sweden’s energy supply and how we use our forests in the best way play a crucial role in whether we will successfully transition to a more sustainable society. I can’t think of a more exciting field of work’, says Viktoria Raft.
As one of the initiators of Kraftkvinnorna, a network to attract more female leaders to the energy sector, Viktoria has long been involved on a voluntary basis in gender equality issues.
‘Many of Sweden’s and today’s challenges intersect in energy and forestry issues, from employment and preparedness to sustainability and business competitiveness. Viktoria will bring important expertise in these areas and is already in demand by old and new clients’, says Founding Partner Johannes Hylander.
Viktoria holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Södertörn University. She has also studied journalism at the Poppius Journalism School and macroeconomics at Stockholm University.
Viktoria joined New Republic on 2 April.
